Job Description:
We are looking for a Senior Propulsion (APU/Fuel Control) Engineer to design and develop our fuel and turbogenerator system for a hybrid-electric regional airplane. This will be a broad role covering electric and software integration, design, analysis, and testing of the Fuel/APU/Turbogenerator.
You will work in the Fuel/APU/TurboGen Systems department, part of the engineering organization, and take broad responsibility for development, integration, qualification and certification of the turbogenerator/APU.
You will oversee the Fuel/APU system architecture including electrical physical installation and wiring, EEC (electronic engine control) interface, FGCU (fuel gauging and control unit) interface, electrical and software ICDs (interface control documents), safety and certification requirements compliance. You will be responsible to define, integrate and test Fuel/Turbogenerator/APU system requirements targeting the compliance with safety, performance and program requirements.
Among other activities, you will develop and managing the activities of the Fuel and APU controller software (EEC/FADEC/FCU) integration including definition, validation and verification of software requirements (V&V). You will also, design and verify all electrical diagrams for fuel and APU system, FMEAs and verify compliance with safety requirements.
Job Requirements:
· Bachelor of Science in Engineering
· Minimum 10 years’ experience in aircraft propulsion systems and/or Fuel/APU systems
· Extensive experience with aircraft propulsion system design and integration, including, electrical and software aspects and EEC/FADEC/FGCU integration
· Aerospace background and proven experience with aircraft certification requirements (EASA/FAA Part 23 and 25) are required
· Practical experience in a lab or test rig environment
· Working knowledge of systems engineering principles for safety critical systems (SAE ARP 4754/4761)
· Working knowledge of airborne hardware and software development assurance processes (RTCA DO-178 & 254)
